Cochran Cemetery is known for the story that surrounds the small gravestone that is located towards the front & center of the cemetery. It is that of an unknown baby that was left on the doorstep of the Lovelady Family who lived down the road. The old original marker has long since deteriorated and lays in a pile behind a new one that has replaced it. *It reads as follows :"Unknown infant boy found at the home of J. K. LOVELADY on 4-1 and died on 4-3-1899 - MAN WHO ARE YOU"
