Lebanon Cemetery
Approximately 8 miles Northwest from Homer, LA in Claiborne Parish, LA

Leaving Homer, travel on LA 2 towards Cotton Valley take a right on LA Hwy. 540.  Travel about 5-51/2 miles and take the 2nd road to the left, Hollenshead Rd.  Go down this road about a mile.  There is a sharp turn to the right, In this turn is the old Lebanon Church.  The white church is the original Primitive Baptist Church house.  Later its use was discontinued.  Then it was used fir a few years by Methodists who painted the outside walls (about the early 1960's).  It is not used at all now.

Thigpen, Gibbs J. August, 17, 1871 May 16, 1926 In Memory Of -- Dearest mother thou has left us here. Thy loss we deeply feel but tis God that hath bereft us. He can all our sorrows heal. One precious to our hearts is gone. A name we loved is stilled. A place vacant in our home which we can be never
filled.
