Instructions for Photo Submissions First, let me tell you that I really appreciate your submissions to the project. Due to the volume of photo's that I receive I am establishing a criteria for file submissions, in order for more timely management of them. I do realize that it involves a little more work on your part and I do apologize for that in advance, however, I am receiving between 2 and 15 cemeteries per day. 1. Please name files as follows - number-last name-first name. example 01-smith-john or 01-smith-john-mary This enables me to know what order the picture was taken in and the person(s) on the stone. 2. Please size photo's to 768 pixels. This is the maxium size that I am allowed to put online, so if they are smaller that is fine, but they cannot be larger. An excellent program for resizing photo's is free from IrfanView. 3. Please include a .txt file transcription and directions to the cemetery. Some stones are very difficult to read from a photo and this will help me greatly. Files may be submitted in 2 ways. You may send them to me at pasttracker@gmail.com or you may send me a cd via snail mail. If you have the ability to burn a cd and there are a large number of stones, this is generally preferrable. For CD submissions. My mailing address is: Katy Hestand C/O Judi Burns 2758 N. St RD 17 Rochester, In 46975 On the outside of the cd, please put the following: 1. Name of the cemetery(ies). 2. The location of the cemetery (town, county, state) 3. Your name and e-mail address. 4. The date that you sent the cd to me. 5. Please include the .txt file transcription. For e-mail Submissions. 1. Please send to pasttracker@gmail.com 2. Please include the name of the cemetery in the subject line. 3. Please include directions to the cemetery in the first group of photo's. 4. At some point, please include the .txt file. Please note, that .txt files are made using notepad or some similar basic word processing program. Wordpad files must be converted before I can put them online and they are not always pretty when I do the conversion. I do realize that this is additional work for you and for that I truly appreciate your efforts. However, files that are sent that do not conform to the above specifications will be worked up after files that are in this form. I get a tremendous number of files daily and when I have to transcribe, resize, locate directions to the cemetery and load and link it all, a considerable amount of time is involved. This is the only way that I can get your files online in a timely manner.
