Klitzke, Chester Alvin Feb. 22, 1929 Aug. 25, 2006 The Hays Daily News - Chester Alvin Klitzke, 77, Ness City, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1929, near Ness City to Walter and Neva (VanHorn) Klitzke. He attended country schools in Ness County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He married Betty Nowlin in February 1952 in WaKeeney. He later married Carol Wood on Aug. 14, 1957, in Guymon, Okla. He was a retired oil field pumper. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Kevin Klitzke, Shreveport, La., Kent Klitzke, Paseo, Wash., and Kris Klitzke, Casper, Wyo.; two daughters, Louella Slater, Holdrege, Neb., and Kim Davis, Cameo Island, Wash.; two brothers, Russell Klitzke, Ransom, and Max Klitzke, Ellis; a sister, Jean Patterson, Fritch, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Ransom; burial in the Ransom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, with the family present from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Pheasants Foreever or the National Kidney Foundation.
