Jester, Thomas H. | 12-19-1934 | 11-5-2005 | b. Winfield ks Cowley co, d. Winfield, S/O Thomas H. & Myrtle (Teter) Jester. Attended University of Kansas. After graduation in 1956 he returned to Oxford and became the third generation in his family, along with his father and grandfather, to own and operate the Oxford Bank. Except for his enlistment in the Army during the Korean War, he spent his entire professional career in the banking business, joining the State Bank, Winfield, following his "first retirement" and the sale of the Oxford Bank in 1982. Tom was a 25 year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 134, as were his father and grandfather. He belonged as a 32nd degree Mason to the Wichita Consistory, and he was a Shrine Noble of the Wichita Midian Shrine. He had an abiding passion for classic cars and he owned many during his lifetime. He was a member of the Oil belt region of the Classic Car Club of America. |
