Klepper, Elma J | May 13, 1909 | March 18, 2005 | b. Bucklin, KS Ford co, d. Wichita, D/O Fannie Francisco and C. D. Jennings. The family moved to Hutchinson in 1914. She graduated from the University of Kansas where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. There she met her future husband, James (Denny) Klepper, who was attending law school. Following graduation they were married and moved to Wichita where Denny joined the law firm of Long, Depew and Stanley. Later he founded the Denny Klepper Oil Company. He preceded her in death in 1995. Elma is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Diane Klepper of Albuquerque, NM and Kay Bales of Wichita along with her husband, Don, and their 2 sons, Dr. Denny Bales of Honolulu, Hawaii and Bob Bales of Wichita, including his wife, Charlotte and great-grandchildren, James and Brittany. Other survivors include her brother, Homer Jennings of Hutchinson along with his children and their families. Elma was a 75 year member of PEO and a past president of the Wichita Junior League. She and Denny enjoyed KU sports and traveling, and in later years she has especially enjoyed Music Theater. |
