She attended Bethel College. She farmed east of Inman for 48 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Inman Mennonite Church and the Mission Society.

Schlatter, Roy Ray 4-24-1913 9-12-2005 b. Inman KS McPherson co, d. Hutchinson KS Reno co, S/O John Newton and Lena Dyck Schlatter. He was a resident of Hutchinson for four years, moving from rural Inman. He was a farmer, a truck driver for Freeman Oil and the former owner and operator of S & E Service, rural Inman. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Clarence; five sisters, infant twins, Ruth and Ruby Schlatter, twins, Edna Schlatter and Mae M. Olsen, and Dorothy Lackey.

She graduated from Groveland Grade School, then graduated from Cosmetology School in 1937 in Hutchinson. A lifetime resident of McPherson County, she was a beautician.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Wilke; and four sisters, Gladys Roberson, Dorothy Slabach, Hilda Allen and Vada McCarty.
