Bratton, Evert Wayne 11-16-1911 8-25-2005 b. Russell co ks, d. Lyons ks Rice co, S/O Elmer Evert and Edna Hattan Bratton. He graduated in 1930 from Luray High School and attended Kansas State University. A resident of Lyons since 1934, he was a farmer, stockman and building contractor. He belonged to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Lyons, and the American Shorthorn Society. On May 15, 1936, he married Elizabeth Babcock at Lyons. She died Jan. 27, 1994. On March 23, 1996, he married Marceline Gandrud at Lyons. She survives.

Darrah, Ruth 9-18-1942 9-21-2005 b. Topeka ks Shawnee co, d. Hutchinson ks Reno, D/O Arthur Clarence and Lola May Worford Ham. She was a graduate of Topeka High School in 1960. A longtime Lyons resident, recently moving to Hutchinson, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Eugene Ham, Gaylord Arthur Ham and Orval Edwin Ham.

Doss, Betty Jo 3-18-1954 8-1-2005 b. Great Bend ks Barton co, d. Wichita, D/O Howard and Goldie Roinson Carter. She graduated from Lyons High School and Emily Griffith Opportunity School, Denver. A resident of Hutchinson for three years, formerly of Denver and Lyons, she was a nighttime stocker for Wal-Mart. She served in the U.S. Army. She was preceded in death by her mother. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, at a later date

Janssen, Willard F. 12-30-1914 7-12-2005 b. Geneseo ks Rice co, d. Salina ks Saline co, S/O Henry F. and Esther M. Bronleewe Janssen. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1933. A lifetime resident of Geneseo, he was a farmer and stockman. He belonged to the United Methodist Church, Lion Club, was a former member of the Geneseo School Board, Geneseo Booster Club, all at Geneseo, and the Kansas Livestock Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Janssen; and three sisters, Inez Janzen, Martha Trenary and Sylver Adams.

Kelley, Nellie Marie 9-14-1956 7-30-2005 b. St. Joseph Mo Buchanan Co, d. Kansas City Mo Jackson co, D/O Carl and Betty Mansil Perkins. She graduated from West Platte R2 High School, Weston, Mo. She was a homemaker and Tobacco Farm worker. On Aug. 12, 1982, she married Mark Kelley at Lyons. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kretzmann, Walter C. 9-29-1909 11-8-2005 b. Sylvan Grove ks Lincoln co, d. Lindsborg ks McPherson co, S/O G.W. and Louise Kohler Kretzmann. He was preceded in death by a son, Wally; a daughter, Marlene; and a grandson.

Longwell, J.K. "Red" 11-24-1922 7-5-2005 b. Douthat OK Ottawa co, d. El Dorado ks Butler co, S/O Ernest and Nell Hearrell Longwell. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1940, attended El Dorado Junior College and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. A resident of El Dorado, formerly of Hutchinson from 1958 to 1999, he was a retired funeral director and embalmer at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. He belonged to Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson, and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and was a former member of the Hutchinson Noon Optimist club and AARP. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Oct. 14, 1947, he married Arnetta J. Wohlford at Lyons. She died Dec. 19, 1984.

McGlynn, Gertrude 8-31-1906 7-14-2005 b. Bushton ks Rice co, d. Hutchinson ks Reno co, D/O Otto and Sarah Jenkins Ebert. She graduated from Bushton High School and attended Bethany College, Lindsborg. A longtime Lyons area resident, she was a homemaker. On June 2, 1930, she married Edward S. McGlynn at Chase. He died April 11, 1985. She was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Ebert; a stepbrother, John Ebert, and a sister, Alma Murphy.

Wiggins, Alice Emily 1-18-1905 3-25-2005 b. Bushton ks rice co, d. Wichita, Age 100, died at Larksfield Place, Wichita.D/O Emil & Lydia Schmidt Cramm, she was a longtime Lyons resident, having lived the last 15 years in Wichita. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1922 and from Southwestern College in Winfield with a degree is Home Economics. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the Eastern Star, both in Lyons. On Sept. 21, 1929 she married Stanley Wiggins who preceded her in death on June 14, 1977. She was also preceded in death by brother, Chester Cramm & sister, Helen Rutledge.
