Joseph H. Thompson - Stiles Thompson was brother of Eli Thompson. They lived on Middlebury turnpike, just south of the Aaron Benedict place. Mrs. Stiles Thompson was daughter of Judge Joseph Hopkins. They were people of education and refinement. He was unfortunate in business, and went from here, I think, to the Black River country, though they seem to have lived at one time in Vermont, Burlington or Middlebury. (F. J. K.)
