WASILLA AURORA CEMETERY
WASILLA, ALASKA
The Aurora Cemetery is
located on Wasilla Fishhook Road just outside of Wasilla, Alaska. The
original cemetery
was constructed by
citizens of Wasilla in 1947. In 1948, a school contest chose the name of
the new cemetery
and a student named
Allayne Nelson (daughter of Peter
& Dorothy Nelson) won $5.00 for her suggestion of "Aurora Cemetery".
Today, the cemetery
is owned and cared for by the City of Wasilla.
